Dabirul Islam

Md. Dabirul Islam

Md. Dabirul Islam was born on 16 January 1960 in the village Sikandarpur of Baniyachong Upazila (Sub-district) under Habiganj district. He obtained Master’s Degree in history from the University of Dhaka. He got another Master’s Degree in Public Health (Maternal and Child Health) from Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology, Dhaka. After passing the Bangladesh Civil Service Examination (Superior Civil Service) in 1984, he started his career as an Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate in Bangladesh Administration cadre. As an officer of the administrative cadre, he worked in the field administration in different districts for more than two decades in various capacity and positions including Upazila Magistrate, Upazila Nirbari Officer, and Additional Deputy Commissioner etc. He was entrusted with the work of criminal justice and development works for long time and as thus he had the opportunities to work with different types and classes of people irrespective of gender, color, religion and creed. As a result he had nice experience of working and managing multi class people of root and mid-level people of the country. Moreover, he serves in various ministries of the government of Bangladesh for a long time as Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary where he was entrusted with the government policy formulation and implementation and monitoring of development projects of the government. After working in different parts of the country and in the secretariat for a long 34 years, he retired from government service in 2019. During his professional life, he visited many countries like India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Japan, South Korea, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, England, Turkey as a government representative and participated in various international training, workshop and seminars. He was one of the founding members and made a remarkable contribution to the establishment of ASED.

Habibul Islam

S M Habibul Islam

S M Habibul Islam is a man of Kurigram district headquarter. He had born on 07 January 1963. He was a Civil Engineer and work with UNICEF as Coordinator. His working filed was Water and Sanitation, Primary Education and EPI. He came to Habiganj due to his service with UNICEF. He had a bright contribution to the establishment of ASED.

Jafar Iqbal Chowdhury

Jafar Iqbal Chowdhury

Jafar Iqbal Chowdhury was born on June 5, 1970. He passed Bachelor Degree (BSc) from M C College, Sylhet under Chittagong University in 1990. After completion of graduation degree he started a voluntary development organization named ASED with the help of maternal uncles, family members and friends. The backward people of the society especially the youth community, disabled people and the quality of life of the fishermen community He has done significant work in sustainable development. In recognition of this work, he was recognized as the best youth organizer of Sylhet Division in 2013 by the Youth Development Department. He has received Kazi Nazrul Islam Memorial Padak by South Asia Social Education Foundation, Sher E Bangla Smriti Padak by Sher E Bangla A K Fazlul Haque Research Council, Mother Teresa Award by Journalist Society for Human Rights and Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Award by Bangladesh Welfare Foundation. He took main contribution to the establishment of ASED.

Jabed Iqbal Chowdhury

Mohammad Jabed Iqbal Chowdhury

Mohammad Jabed Iqbal Chowdhury was born on May 21, 1973. He obtained Master’s of Public Administration on Municipal and Local Administration degree from Korea university. He also holds a Bachelor Degree from National University and Bachelor of Law Degree from Sylhet Law College and a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGD in IT) from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). He started his career as the Municipal secretary of Nabiganj Municipality of Habiganj district. Now he is working as the District Facilitator of the Local Governance Support Project (LGSP) under the Local Government Division, Ministry of LGRD & Cooperatives. He has  a significant contribution to the establishment of ASED.

Mosammat Kamrun Nahar Chowdhury

She was born on 1st January 1971 in the village Pukhra of Baniyachong Upazila (Sub-district) under Habiganj district. After completing her college level education, she engaged herself with the socio-economic development activities like handicrafts of the rural people of the locality. She had opportunity to work with the various groups of women in different parts of the country and where she was engaged to organize various types of fairs in many occasions. She visited many countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and United Kingdom. She has a good contribution during establishment of ASED.

Sabina Yasmin Chowdhury

Sabina Yasmin Chowdhury

Sabina Yasmin Chowdhury was born on February 02, 1977. She obtained B.Sc honors and M.Sc Degree in Physics from M C College Sylhet under Chittagong University. She has been serving as Physics Teacher in Sylhet South Surma Nurjahan Memorial Women’s College since 2004. She had contribution to the establishment of ASED.
